Lucid Motors says they haven’t had to modify their ambitious plans to complete their new 720,000 square feet electric car manufacturing plant in Casa Grande. The firm based in Newark, Calif. says everything is on schedule while Covid-19 guidelines have been followed all along at the site requiring those entering to pass multiple temperature tests and wear a mask.
In an update the firm says it will complete its first phase plant construction and begin electric car production towards the end of this year. Already equipment for plant production has been arriving from Japan The production lines not only include equipment from Japan, but other leading world suppliers such as the United States, Germany South Korea, and Mexico. This first phase of factory construction represents an investment of over $300 million .
We have been told when the manufacturing plant is fully completed and fully operating some 67,400,000 pounds of concrete along with 11,353,800 pounds of steel will be required to build the complete facility. The plant has been designed to eventually make as many of 380,000 electric cars. The project has the backing of one billion dollars from Saudi Arabia’s Investment.
Currently there are several hundred workers a the Lucid Car manufacturing plant at Casa Grande still under construction The company anticipates it will have some 700 employees when production gets underway towards the end of the year. Nearly 100 job openings are listed on the firm’s website.
