If you’re currently scouting out some new specs, maybe this innovative pair will spark your interest.

Amazon recently released its second-generation Echo Frames — smart eyeglasses with built-in Alexa capability. They cost $249.99.

Features include the ability to make hands-free phone calls, listen to audiobooks or podcasts, set reminders, control smart home devices and access news. A built-in microphone is also designed to respond to the voice of the person wearing the smart glasses.

As far as battery life goes, Amazon says the Echo Frames will last for 14 hours on a full charge, including up to two hours of phone calls and up to four hours of non-stop listening.

The tech-savvy glasses come in three colors — classic black, horizon blue and modern tortoise — but don’t include prescription lenses as part of the $249.99 price tag. Prescription lenses, however, can be filled at a local eye care provider or any LensCrafters location.

Amazon says the eyeglasses will fit a medium or large face frame best. Exact measurements are included in the chart found here.

Echo Frames were originally part of “Day One Editions,” Amazon’s beta-testing program where a select number of customers gain early access and provide feedback. Amazon users were able to request an invitation to test out the product. Amazon made the second-generation glasses available to the public last month.

The eyeglasses are only compatible with Android or iOS smartphone devices with the Alexa app for connectivity. Access to Google Assistant and Siri is also supported.

Other Amazon devices that have recently launched include the Eero 6 Wi-Fi Router, Amazon Halo Activity Tracker and Echo Dot (fourth-generation).
