The DMV office in Temecula was evacuated after a bomb threat Thursday morning, July 2, but no device was found, the California Highway Patrol said.
The threat was reported about 10:15 a.m., Officer Mike Lassig said. Employees of nearby businesses were urged to evacuate or shelter in place.
Two explosive-sniffing K-9s were brought in and did not find anything, he said.
Officers determined about 12:35 p.m. that there was no danger.
During the search, Diaz Road was closed from Rancho Way to Via Montezuma.
The CHP’s Temecula office will continue to investigate the threat at the state-owned building.
