Many celebrities have been confined to their homes, social distancing and quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic like the rest of us.
And like the rest of us, celebs like George Clooney have had to adapt to spending the majority of their time at home. In the case of Clooney, he might have been prepared already for quarantine as he’s gotten pretty creative with his personal grooming over the years.
Get this: Clooney has been using a device called a Flowbee attached to a vacuum cleaner, to cut his hair and he’s been doing this for 25 years!
Clooney sat down with CBS correspondent Tracy Smith, socially distanced at his home, to discuss his new Netflix film “The Midnight Sky,” which comes out on the streaming service on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Though, Smith also asked the A-list actor how he’s adapted to life in quarantine. “Are you enjoying being home all the time now?” Smith asked Clooney via CBS.
“Well, look: no, of course not,” he told Smith. “It’s been a while since I did, you know, 15 loads of laundry in a day and mopped floors and, you know, all these doors over here I stained! You know, I always say I felt like my mother in 1964, ‘cause she had two kids and no help. And I don’t know how she did it now. I have more sympathy for her now than ever.”
That’s when it was revealed Clooney simply hasn’t been cutting his own hair because of quarantine, but he’s been doing it for 25 years now.
Clooney said to Smith of CBS, “Look, my hair’s, like really like straw, you know? And it’s so easy to cut. You can’t really make too many mistakes. So years ago I bought a thing called a Flowbee, which when we were kids—”
“You did not! The infomercial?” Smith replied.
“Yeah. It comes with a vacuum cleaner and the clippers? Yeah. I still have it,” Clooney added. “Listen, man, it works! Now, I wouldn’t do it to my wife!”
There you have it. One of the most beloved movie star, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for “Syriana” in 2006 and a Best Picture Oscar for “Argo” in 2013, cuts his iconic hair with a Flowbee.
