LEETONIA — Ohio Edison customers have until Sept. 6 before the community electric aggregation program voted on by community members in May 2011 takes effect.
Leetonia has selected Energy Harbor as the village’s electric generation supplier.
Energy Harbor is a retail energy provider serving nearly one million residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois and Michigan.
Energy Harbor is headquartered in Akron and according to the company, prides itself on generating substantial carbon-free energy.
The aggregation agreement between Energy Harbor and the village provides residents with competitively priced energy.
The current term between the village and Energy Harbor will end October 2023.
Residents will continue to receive a single bill from Ohio Edison reflecting the aggregated price 30 – 45 days after the aggregation is in effect.
Residential and small business owners in Leetonia will receive a rate of 4.68 cents per kilowatt of electricity through the aggregation program. The rate will remain the same each month and estimated savings will be reflected on monthly bills.
Customers with special arrangements including net-metering, percentage of income payment plans and mercantile customers will not be eligible for the aggregation program.
Residents can opt out of the aggregation program at any time without penalty. Residents can opt out by returning the opt out reply form mailed to all residents, providing a ten digit opt out code online at energyharbor.com/opt-out or directly calling Energy Harbor at 1-866-636-3749.
