FOREST, Va. (WSET) — A car crash on Monday morning sent one person to the hospital and temporarily closed traffic both ways on 221 in Forest.
Officials with the Forest Volunteer Fire Department said the crash involved only one car but it hit two other parked vehicles and the electric pole. One person was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Five customers in the direct vicinity are without power, and AEP said they estimate the lights to be back on by 4 p.m.
ABC13 received video from the scene which shows the heavily damaged car and a wooded electric pole shattered from the impact.
The roadway has been reopened after being temporarily shut down following the crash.
Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.
