PITTSBURG, Kan. – Police investigate a suspicious device found in an area adjacent to Pittsburg State University.
This afternoon, March 3, around 2:50 p.m., Pittsburg police officers responded to the 1500 block area of S. Joplin Street after getting a call about the suspicious device. The Kansas State Highway Patrol’s Hazardous Device Unit arrived on scene shortly before 6:00 p.m.
Authorities confirmed the suspicious device is in the area west of S. Joplin in the 1500 block area. The Hazardous Device Unit is taking photos of the device.
Authorities left the scene with the device at around 7:20 p.m.
