Tri-County Electric is expected to start work this week replacing and upgrading utility poles, and installing aerial and underground electric lines, along portions of Indian Knoll Trail and the south side of Shady Grove Road just over the city limit line in North Richland Hills.
According to information they've shared with the city, there are no locations that will have new overhead electricity installed where there isn't already overhead electricity. A section of underground line is planned along 8600 Indian Knoll to avoid a large tree canopy. Tri-County's work along Shady Grove is in partnership with Oncor; the two utilities will share poles on the south side of the road and will be upgrading the poles to support both sets of lines.
Residents may encounter temporary traffic impacts during this work as well as short electric outages while their service is switched over to the new lines. Tri-County has shared that the project is likely to take until the end of May to complete.
